WBO has officially appoints Usyk vs Joyce

The WBO management has officially appointed Alexander Usyk (18-0, 13 KOs) and Joe Joyce (12-0, 11 KOs) to fight for the interim world heavyweight title. The boxing teams have 15 days to agree on the organization of this meeting.

The fight of the Ukrainian and the British must take place within 90 days from the moment of choosing the organizer. One of the possible dates for the fight, which was named by Joyce's manager, is March 27th. The confrontation will take place in the UK.

Usyk is currently a free agent and Joyce's promoter is Frank Warren. The winner of the bout will be eligible to cross gloves with the winner of the June unification bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

The 35-year-old Joyce had his last professional fight in November, having stopped Daniel Dubois. The last time Usyk fought was in October. In his second performance in the heavyweights, the Ukrainian defeated Dereck Chisora ​​on points.
