WBA Light Heavyweight Champion Dmitry Bivol (17-0, 11 KOs) last fought in October 2019. Last year, the Russian did not have a single fight, and at the moment when he will return to the ring is still unknown.
“Andrey Ryabinsky understands that getting a fight from DAZN will be difficult, so he will try to organize something in Russia maybe in March or April. It is possible that it will not even be the WBA belt defense,” Bivol said.
“I would like to have at least two fights this year, but I cannot influence that. This is due to many things, but I would love to cross gloves with Gilberto Ramirez,” the Russian said.
The 30-year-old boxer defeated Lenin Castillo by a unanimous decision in his last fight. Bivol has owned the belt of the World Boxing Association for more than three years, so far he has defended his trophy five times.
