There has been a long debate about the future of the WBO heavyweight belt currently owned by Anthony Joshua (24-1, 21 KOs). The Briton would like to take with him the World Boxing Organization trophy in the unification fight with Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs), but Alexander Usyk (18-0, 13 KOs) stands in the way of such a scenario, demanding - as a mandatory contender for WBO title - immediate bout against AJ.

Until now, various ideas for a way out of this awkward situation have appeared in the media: to strip Joshua of the title, pay Usyk "compensation" and let Usyk fight for the vacant title with another challenger or for a interim version of it. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian's promoter Alexander Krasyuk said in an interview with Sky Sports that there is one more offer that will satisfy both his ward and Joshua and Fury.

According to the new concept presented by Joshua's promoters, the winner of Joshua vs Fury fight will vacate the WBO belt immediately after the fight. Thus, the best in this pair will be the undisputed champion of the royal division for a very short time, and Usyk will get a chance to become a champion in the near future.

At the same time, Krasyuk continues to argue that at the moment Usyk's main priority is confrontation with Anthony Joshua.
