The vacant belt of the WBO International Heavyweight Champion will be at stake of Lawrence Okolie (14-0, 11 KOs) vs Nikodem Jezewski (19-0-1, 9 KOs) fight in London this weekend.

Initially, Okolie was supposed to fight Krzysztof Glowacki (31-2, 19 KOs) for the vacant WBO world title, but the Polish boxer caught coronavirus and was replaced by Jezewski. In recent days, Eddie Hearn, promoter of Okolie, has made efforts to include his ward's opponent under exceptional conditions in the World Boxing Organization's ranking so that he can battle for the world title despite the change of opponent. However, WBO did not succumb to the persuasion of the head of Matchroom Boxing, and Jezewski's name did not appear on the updated list of WBO contenders.

The confrontation of Okolie and Jezewski will ultimately be only an unofficial elimination of the championship belt - its winner will cross gloves with Glowacki in a fight for the WBO belt in for 180 days.
