Ryan Garcia's (20-0, 17 KOs) fight against Luke Campbell (20-3, 16 KOs) can be postponed to December 26. This was announced by Mike Coppinger, journalist for Athletic. The fight was supposed to take place on December 5, but it was confirmed that the Briton was infected with the coronavirus, which did not allow him to train for 10 days.
Campbell is now in self-isolation and is doing well. The Briton will resume training shortly and says he will be ready to face Garcia later this year, which means the DAZN platform could have another big fight in December.
At stake for this meeting there will be an interim WBC lightweight title. The winner of the bout will also become a mandatory for Devin Haney, who holds a regular World Boxing Council championship lightweight title.
