At the moment, there is no clear leader in the light heavyweight division. But he may appear very soon, if, of course, the championship belts are united. This is what Dmitry Bivol (17-0, 11 KOs) intends to do.

WBA light heavyweight champion has yet to enter the ring this year, but it looks like we'll see him in action before the new year. According to many sources, the two main contenders for the number one light heavyweight spot today are Bivol and his compatriot WBC and IBF champion Artur Beterbiev (15-0, 15 KOs).

“I have no problem to fight with my countryman and I will be happy to meet Artur Beterbiev. In any case, it seems to me that he also wants this fight. We are both ready to show an excellent fight, and, preferably, to hold it in St. Petersburg, Russia” Bivol said.

Both fighters are set to enter the ring in December. Their unification duel could take place next year, if the promoters agree on a TV channel that will broadcast it. Fights of Bivola are shown on the DAZN platform, and Beterbiev performs on ESPN.
