Takam defeats Forrest on points
Carlos Takam (39-5-1, 28 KOs) defeated Jerry Forrest (26-4, 20 KOs) by unanimous decision in the main event of Top Rank evening in Las Vegas. After ten rounds, the judges scored it 96-94, 97-93 and 98-92 in favor of the Cameroonian, fighting under the French flag.
39-year-old Takam dominated the first half of the bout. In the final rounds, Forrest began to gain momentum, but as it turned out, it was too late. The American several times forced a tired opponent to fall back on the ropes, but he failed to send him to the floor.
Jarrell Miller was supposed to be Forrest's rival in this fight, but the representative of New York again tested positive for doping. For Takam, it was the fourth consecutive victory after losing to Derek Chisora in July 2018.
