In the summer of 2021, the first battle of WBC champion Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) and WBA, WBO and IBF champion Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs) may take place. At least that's what promoter Eddie Hearn hopes for. Fighters agreed to hold two fights next year with the first battle taking place in the UK, and the second in another country.

“The first battle will take place around June. This will be the biggest battle in the history of British boxing, so we can not take it from the British fans. But the rematch is likely to take place in another part of the world. We must also look at it from a business perspective, and places like Saudi Arabia can offer us really good conditions,” Hearn explained.

Recently it became known that Joshua and Fury accepted the financial terms for both fights. Hearn later clarified that this does not mean signing contracts for the battle. However, the negotiation process on this issue proceeds with a positive attitude of both parties.

Joshua and Fury must have two fights before they meet. Joshua will face Kubrat Pulev and Oleksandr Usyk, and Fury will have to face Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte. All fights will have the status of mandatory defense of championship belts, and if they are missed, Fury or Joshua may lose one of their belts.
