Professional boxing returns to California

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) at a meeting on Friday gave the go-ahead for the return of martial sports, so far without the participation of spectators.

CSAC's opinion will now be submitted to the State Bureau of Administrative Law for approval, which may ultimately give formal consent to the boxing and MMA competitions.

Probably the first such evening in California since the announcement of the cancellation of all sporting events in connection with the coronavirus epidemic will be organized by Golden Boy Promotions on July 7th.
