In August boxing may return to Puerto Rico. Former world champion in four weight categories, Miguel Cotto, who has been a promoter for several years, will be the organizer of the first evenings during the coronavirus pandemic.

This year, Miguel Cotto Promotions organized only one tournament, which took place in February. Due to travel restrictions, only local boxers will compete at the event.

More countries in the Americas are planning boxing events in the coming weeks. A few days later, the first evening should be held in Mexico, and on May 30, an event is planned in the Dominican Republic. Boxing recently returned to Nicaragua also.
