WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman announced that, probably, the Council will not delay the fight of Dillian Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs) for the heavyweight title. Until recently, the head of the World Boxing Council said that such a scenario is likely to happen.

Now Suleiman announced that if boxing will return to normal life at the end of the year, he does not see the need for it. However, the Mexican boss did not rule out the alternative scenario.

"All parties should show understanding. We do not want anyone to complicate their life and we have to respect not only our agreements, but also the agreement of fighters and promoters," WBC president said.

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has owned his title for several weeks already. Whyte last fought in December, defeating Mariusz Wach on points. The British must return to the ring on July 4, when his opponent will be Alexander Povetkin.
