Dillian White (27-1, 18 KOs) has been waiting for the title heavyweight fight for a long time. Several months ago, the World Boxing Council's management announced that the 31-year-old Briton will fight for the championship belt no later than February 2021.

It seems that due to the pandemic coronavirus Whyte will have to wait for his chance in the championship battle for one year more. Mauricio Sulaiman, the WBC President, had already announced that the mandatory defense in the different weight classes will vary.

"The situation is unique. We look at each case individually. It will be difficult decisions, and we are waiting for an understanding of both sides," Suleiman said.

WBC heavyweight belt belongs to Tyson Fury for a few weeks. Whyte last fought in December defeating Mariusz Wach on points. The British must return to the ring on May 2 in Manchester, but at this time, it seems unlikely.
