Joe Smith (25-3, 20 KOs) scored a unanimous decision win over Jesse Hart (26-3, 21 KOs) in the main event of the evening in Atlantic City. Despite the fact that the fight took place with the obvious advantage of Smith, one of the judges still gave Hart the victory with a score of 95-94, the other two saw Smith's victory - 98-91 and 97-92.
The duel took place at a rapid pace. Smith from the outset tried to force the opponent to defend himself, taking advantage of his physical strength. In the seventh round Hart was counted down after a hard right hand.
