The following year Terence Crawford (36-0, 27 KOs) could get a chance to win a championship belt in his fourth weight category. Top Rank plans to organize a fight for the 32-year-old against the WBO junior middleweight champion Patrick Teixeira (31-1, 22 KOs).

Crawford struggles to find worthy opponents at welterweights. Most of the leading boxers are now on a contract with other channels, so it's quite difficult to agree on battles that spectators await.

Crawford previously held belts in the lightweight and welterweight divisions and now may claim the title in 154 pounds. Teixeira won the interim WBO belt in November, but was later promoted by WBO to the full-weight champion.

In his last fight the Brazilian defeated Carlos Adams on points. Crawford this year scored wins over Amir Khan and Egidijus Kavaliauskas.
