The former world champion Viktor Postol (31-2, 12 KOs) participated in a press conference in Kiev, where he spoke about the upcoming fight with the unified champion Jose Carlos Ramirez (25-0, 17 KOs), which will be held on February 1 in China in Haikou.
"At the moment I train in Brovary, Ukraine two two-hours training sessions a day. On December 7 I will fly to Los Angeles for a 7-8 week training camp, I will be preparing with Freddie Roach in his gym. Camp in the US is good that I am focused only on training, does not interfere with the family, and so on," Postol said.
"With my future opponent Ramirez, we have a good relationship, we first met on the Philippines, in the Manny Pacquiao camp, we even had a few sparrings. Then we met in Los Angeles, we were talking, but since then my English was bad, we talked through a translator on phone. Ramirez is a stubborn young and promising fighter, he's a Mexican, he likes to brawl, he has a heavy punch. Ramirez is a bit like Matthysse, but I would say that Matthysse hits harder. Ramirez is beatable, he's not Crawford," Postol said.
"The fact that the fight will take place in China is good. If the fight is in Los Angeles, the audience would be of his, and the judges also, but in China there will be neutral judges. Plus for him, as for me, this is the first fight in China," Postol said.
