A former contender for the IBF heavyweight title Carlos Takam (36-5-1, 28 KO) has signed a promotional contract with Star Boxing. 38-year-old Cameroonian has recently been declared as the enemy Oleksandr Usyk (16-0, 12 KOs), who makes his heavyweight debut on October 12 in Chicago. However, it seems, that the Ukrainian will be forced to find a new opponent.
"I received several offers, but it seemed to me that with Joe DeGuardia we can make full use of my potential," Takam commented on the new contract. Takam last boxed in December, when he defeated Senad Gashi.
