According to Dan Rafael of ESPN, the undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (16-0, 12 KOs) returns to the ring on October 12 in Chicago at Vintrast Arena. Undefeated Ukrainian in his debut in the heavyweight division, most likely, will face Carlos Takam (36-5-1, 28 KOs).
While Usyk has not fought as a pro in the heavyweights, WBO has already appointed him as the official challenger for the world title. According to the resolutions of World Boxing Organization, Usyk has the right to fight the winner of Joshua - Ruiz rematch, unless, of course, he defeats Takam in October.
