Davis figures out Nunez in two

In the main event of boxing evening in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, the WBA super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis (22-0, 21 KOs) scored a second round TKO victory over the mandatory challenger for his title Ricardo Nunes (21-3, 19 KOs) of Panama.

In the first round Nunez tried to apply pressure, but the fight quickly moved into the center of the ring. Davis controlled the pace with his right hand and occasionally gets with the left uppercuts or tried to put on a straight left from lowered position.

Nunez began the second round aggressively, but he was not able to achieve anything concrete, and the champion dodged him at a distance. At one point, the referee in the ring warned Nunez because he hit the opponent on the back of his head. A few moments later, Nunez struck his head on the "Tank". Champion broke from the clinch and landed a powerful left hook. The challenger appeared hurt and Davis did not miss his opportunity. The bout ended with a series of fine tuned hits, which ended with two heavy left hooks. The referee stopped the duel when seriously hurt Nunez began to miss blow by blow, hanging on the ropes.
