Berinchyk to meet Arakawa on April 20 in Ukraine

On April 20 K2 Promotions Ukraine will stage its next boxing tournament in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, on the arena of the Sports Palace. In the main event the silver medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games Denys Berinchyk (10-0, 7 KOs) will face the 7th number of the WBO rating Nihito Arakawa (32-6- 2, 18 KOs) from Japan. At the stake of the meeting will be the belt of the international WBO lightweight champion, owned by Berinchyk.

For Berinchyk this will be the first defense of the title, he obtained last December, stopping Filipino Rosekie Cristobal in the seventh round.

Nihito Arakawa had his previous fight this January against Thai Thuedsaka Sinama, and beat him on points. In July of 2013, Arakawa fought with Omar Figueroa Jr. for the title of interim WBC champion, but lost on points. The promising Ukrainian middleweight Dmytro Mytrofanov (4-0-1, 2 KOs) will also enter the ring of the Kyiv Sports Palace this evening. Mytrofanov will have an 8-rounder against an opponent, whose name will be announced later.
