Usyk to decide on his career next week

The future of the undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk can be determined next week. Promoter Eddie Hearn shared news from the champion’s camp. In the coming days, it will be decided whether Usyk remains in its weight class or goes to the heavyweights. If Usyk does not change a weight category, he may face the WBA mandatory contender Denis Lebedev of Russia.

“Next week we will have a meeting in New York to determine the opponent and the date of the next fight for Usyk. Oleksandr will either remain in the cruiserweights and meet Lebedev, or he will rise to the heavyweights,” said Hearn.

Hearn also admitted that he had talked about the fight between Usyk and another Russian - Arthur Beterbiev, who is the IBF light heavyweight champion. However, Arthur is ready to go to the first cruiserweights for a fight with Usyk.
