Baranchyk is the new world champion

In one of the main events of the evening in New Orleans, in the battle for the vacant IBF junior welterweight title, Ivan Baranchyk (19-0, 12 KOs) stopped Anthony Yigit (21-1-1, 7 KOs) after the doctor recommended the referee to withdraw the latter after the seventh round due to a serious swelling near the left eye. Thus, Baranchyk passed to the semi-finals of the second season of the World Boxing Super Series, where he will meet with the winner of Josh Taylor - Ryan Martin, who will meet in a week, on November 3, in Glasgow.

Baranchyk went forward and dominated the battle. In the seventh round Baranchyk was penalized for one point for holding Yigit’s head down.
