Tabiti defeats Fayfer on points, proceeds to the WBSS semi

In one of the main events of the boxing evening in Yekaterinburg in the quarterfinals of the second season of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) in the cruiserweights Andrew Tabiti (17-0, 13 KOs) scored a unanimous decision over the previously undefeated Russian Ruslan Fayfer (23-1 , 16 KO). Tabiti went to the WBSS semifinals, where he will meet with the winner of the Yunier Dorticos - Mateus Masternak bout, who will meet in a week, on October 20, in Orlando, USA.

The match turned out to be pretty close, but not the most entertaining. There was a lot of dirt, wrestling but few active offensive actions. Tabiti worked more on his back foot, Fayfer went forward, often acting dangerously with his head, but his punches lacked precision.

In the final twelfth round, referee Roberto Ramirez Jr. penalized Fayfer for pushing his opponent.

For all twelve rounds, there were very few accurate hits, and those that were more often were on the account of Tabiti, who showed better, cleaner and more economical work in the ring, and eventually gained favor on the cards of the judges: 116-111 115-112 and 114-113.
