Former interim WBO middleweight champion Avtandil Khurtsidze (33-2-2, 22 KO) of Kutaisi, Georgia in June was found guilty of racketeering and fraud cases. According to the investigation, the boxer was involved in a gang of criminal authority and a thief in law Raden Shulai.

In the hands of the investigators there was a video that clearly shows how Khurtsidze beats a man in the face, after which Shulai does the same, extorting from him allegedly stolen money. The investigation also has other video evidence that Khurtsidze "was in charge of the power men" in Shulaia's organization. For this Khurtsidze was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In addition to this charges, Khurtsidze is also charged with fraud in the gambling business - allegedly intruders tried to hack and reprogram slot machines in casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In addition to 10 years in prison, Khurtsidze also received two years of administrative supervision.
