UFC plans to hold championships in Russia in the future. This was stated by the senior vice president of promotion David Shaw.

"We really like the idea of holding title fights in Russia," Shaw said. “But, firstly, it is important for us to make the first event at a high level, so that it leaves an indelible impression. Secondly, as a rule, tournaments where title fights take place are shown on the pay-per-view system. Such fights invariably show up no earlier than ten in the evening for American and Canadian time, in Russia it will be a completely different time."

"But we did similar (title fights) in Sweden, London, many times - in Brazil. Of course, we really want to hold championship fights in Russia, but the first tournament will be held without PPV," Shaw said.

The first tournament in the history of UFC in Russia will be on September 15 in the Moscow sports complex "Olympic".
