Lemieux defeats Achour

Former world middleweight champion David Lemieux (39-4, 33 KOs) scored a one-sided victory by unanimous decision over Karim Achour (26-5-3, 4 KOs) in the main event of the evening at the Videotron Center arena in Quebec, Canada. In the final round Achour was knocked down. The scores were: 119-108, 120-107 and 119-107.

At the weigh-in before the fight Lemieux was 2 pounds heavier the limit, and most likely, the next fight he will be held in the super middleweight division. Because of the extra weight, Lemieux could not win the WBC international and the WBC Francophone titles, owned by Achour, and now they are declared vacant.
