Brazilian MMA fighter Gabriel Gonzaga is ready for the fight against Russian Alexander Emelianenko, despite a two-year layoff.
"I feel good, I train every day with my students in Squared BJJ," Gonzaga said. "I'm in a good shape, lately I've been boxing with professionals, which I did well. I also planned to teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu again, so I trained in this direction."
Speaking about his rival, Gonzaga noted that in order to defeat Emelianenko, he must be as sharp as possible:
"Emelianenko looks good, so I need to be as sharp as possible to win this fight. I did not have much time to prepare, but this should not be a problem. I do not care what happens in his life, my main task is to defeat an opponent," the athlete added.
Emelianenko Jr. vs Gonzaga fight is scheduled for May 5 at the RCC Boxing tournament in Yekaterinburg.
