WBA President Gilberto Mendoza says that Alexander Povetkin should become the next mandatory challenger for WBA Super World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua.
"I believe that the Joshua - Povetkin fight should be the next. We need to understand that Joshua is a real figure in our sport, and we should think about unification fights, but in general his next opponent should be Povetkin. We feel that this will be a good confrontation.
"There are always some circumstances, and you need to follow them step by step. But Povetkin is already evaluated as a challenger, and his style and style of Anthony will make this meeting interesting," said Mendoza.
