Former super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis should have his next fight on April 21 in the evening of boxing on Showtime. Davis's opponent has yet to be determined, but his team negotiated an eliminator fight against former featherweight champion Billy Dib of Australia.
Teams of boxers asked IBF for more time to negotiate ahead of scheduled for January 29 promotional bids. As a result the auction was postponed until February 6, but yet did not happen, as IBF received a notification that the parties reached an agreement.
At the same time ESPN reports that Davis is likely to face next former featherweight champion Jesus Cuellar of Argentina, and at the stake of this fight will be one of the versions of WBA title, although WBA has promised to reduce the number of its "champions" within the same weight category.
Throughout his career Cuellar performed in the featherweight division. His last fight he had in December 2016, and it was his only fight in 2016. Last time Cuellar lost by split decision to Abner Mares.
