Gassiev: Each of us has a chance to end the fight by knockout

IBF cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev commented on the forthcoming World Boxing Super Series semi-final fight with WBA champion Yunier Dorticos.

"I'm not going to prove anything to anyone in this fight. Boxing is a real sport for real men. I think that, like my opponent, I will do everything to get the victory. Each of us has a chance to end this fight by knockout. This is already a matter of chance.

"As for the final... I do not like to look behind my current opponent's back. I have a fight with the undefeated world champion. And I need to tune in to it first, and then we will see. In such a tournament one can not underestimate any of the rivals.

"We were preparing for this fight, and personally I do not feel any pressure, now I just need to get out in the ring and win. The fight will be in Russia, and will take place during the International Boxing Forum. I'm happy to be a part of this forum, to see so many famous people alive.

"I am often asked about psychology. I've been doing boxing for nine years, I'm a world champion. I realize all this, I do not have any fear. In front of me will be the same person - two hands, two legs. Boxing is a sport of real men, there are no cowards here. Otherwise it's better to dance or play checkers. Simply after the fight, one will win, and the other will lose, in a Super Series there can not be a draw. I will treat everything normally. If I lose, then God decided so, then it's not my day. I think that there is no fear for Dorticos either, we are just waiting for the day when we will enter the ring and start beating each other with all our might," Gassiev said.
