World and European amateur champion Alexander Khyzhniak of Polatava, Ukraine talked about winning the title of the best boxer of the World championship, tournament scoring and his already famous celebration.

On winning the title of the best boxer of the world:

"The prize for the best boxer of the World Championship is a trophy for our entire country. It will remain in history. Nobody has received this Cup yet. I can say with confidence that in the future it will be difficult for our athletes to win it. This requires a lot of work. If I got it, then I really deserved it."

About scoring:

"Every judge sees a fight in different ways, someone likes an aggressive style, someone not. Nothing can be proved otherwise, because they saw everything their own way. The referee also sees the fight in his own way. Here you have to express your character, your style of battle, so that not only the judges who sit on the sides, but the spectators who supports you. This all adds to the effectiveness of the battle. Every time you land a panch the audience takes a big ovation, and this already makes an impression on judges."

On the saluting victories celebration:

"After the fight one have a feeling deep inside and understanding that you have not let yourself down, did not let your coach down, that you really did something big, and nobody can tell you that you disgraced your country, your team, that you acted with dignity. After you have your hand raised you salute your coach, the country, people who sit near the TV and say: ‘This is our Cossack, this is our Poltava tank, our pride’.

With this gesture, you say to people: ‘I congratulate you, I congratulate myself on the victory and further I will serve and work in order to bring only victories.’ This gesture can become a brand, because we do not plan to stop, and yes, there will be defeats, that's for sure, but there will be victories, I can say this with confidence."
