While the fight against Macklin is a dangerous one, boxing fans and insiders alike can't help but speculate on potential match ups against some of the biggest names in the middleweight and super middleweight divisions. You can count Golovkin himself amongst those who wonder how he would fare against the elite names around his weight class. "Absolutely. Right now my focus is on middleweight but in the future why not? Andre Ward is one of the best in the sport. I think the fight is great for everybody. Not just for the fans but for the whole sport. I work with HBO now and I am open to fights with everybody. Some guys are on Showtime so that could be a problem. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is a big guy. I would like to fight him in the future or anybody else but right now I'm focused on Macklin," Golovkin told BoxingScene.com. Golovkin's fight against Macklin will be the main event of an HBO televised tripleheader. The knockout artist didn't want to give a prediction for his fight but promised that it would be a fun fight. "I think it will be a great fight. I think there will be big drama. I don't know for who (laughing), but there will be big drama. Make sure you tune in," Golovkin stated.
