Ian: "UFC picked Vera for O'Malley to beat him."

Former UFC flyweight champion Peter Yan shared his thoughts on the fight between current titleholder Sean O'Malley and Marlon Vera.

"Vera is a handy one for Shawn. The UFC picked Marlon for Shawn to win. What can Vera do? Fight in the standup? So too, Shawn is much more accurate, sensitive and versatile in the standup. That's what he showed. Why didn't Merab fight? Because he is uncomfortable with Shawn," said Yan in an interview with YouTube channel Gorilla Fighting.

Recall that on March 9 in the main event of UFC 299 O'Malley defeated Vera by unanimous decision of the judges. With this victory, the American got even with the Ecuadorian for the defeat in August 2020.
