Garcia criticized Tszyu's trainer: "I wouldn't let a fighter continue a fight with that kind of dissection"

Renowned American trainer Robert Garcia is convinced that former world bantamweight champion Tim Tszyu 's corner should have removed his fighter immediately after he suffered a serious dissection in his fight with Sebastian ...

Last weekend at Boxing Night in Las Vegas, USA, Tszyu lost to Fundora by split decision of the judges in a fight for the WBC and WBO titles.

"Right away in the second round I would have stopped all of that. I wouldn't let my fighter continue the fight with that injury. A guy gets weak when he loses that much blood. The referee and doctors are in control, but they are pushing back on their communication with the fighter and his corners. Their job is to protect the fighter, but if they were to stop the fight on their initiative, it would be considered a no contest. In that case Tim would have retained his title.

Now Tim has lost and he will have to start from scratch. His fees will be reduced. A coach should not listen to a fighter just because he wants to fight," Garcia was quoted as saying by Boxing News 24.
