UFC American lightweight of Albanian descent Dennis Buzuccia has claimed that promotion officials banned him from flagging out for his bout with Connor Matthews.
The fight took place on March 30 at UFC on ESPN 54 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.
"I was lucky enough to represent Albania, and it's kind of crazy - right before I came out, the UFC staff came up to me and told me I couldn't come out with my flag because it had gold trim on it," Buzukja said at the press conference.
Recall, Buzuccia defeated Matthews by technical knockout in the third round and received a $50,000 bonus for the best performance of the evening.
