Unified heavyweight boxing world champion Oleksandr Usyk said he will fight on May 18 even if WBC belt holder Tyson Fury refuses to fight.
"I will definitely perform on May 18, and my training will not go in vain. But I'm very happy that Tyson has recovered quickly from his injury and is back to training. I have to fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion.
It doesn't matter who the opponent will be. It just so happens that Tyson Fury is standing in my way to the title of absolute champion. But if Tyson doesn't want to fight and decides to give up his belt, I will gladly fight for it with whoever the WBC chooses as a challenger," Boxing Social quoted Usik as saying.
