Ecuadorian UFC lightweight division fighter Marlon Vera has addressed the fans after a failed attempt to win the championship belt.

Sean O'Malley defeated Vera by unanimous decision last weekend in the main event of UFC 299 in Miami, USA.

"This has been a lifelong dream of mine, but I wasn't able to accomplish what I wanted. I will be back thanks to the support of my family and team. I felt the support from Ecuador like never before, it was truly historic. One day the belt will be mine," Vera wrote on Instagram.
