Yadong: "When I knock out Yang, the right to fight for the belt will pass to me"

Chinese UFC lightweight fighter Song Yadong believes a striking victory over former champion Peter Yan will make him a top contender for the belt.

Their clash will take place on the night of March 10 at UFC 299 in Miami. In the main event of the event, current division leader Sean O'Malley will defend his title against Marlon Vera.

"I like Sean O'Malley, his style, he's smart and from the looks of it, he's definitely going to win the fight. But I hope Marlon wins. If Vera wins, it's quite possible that he could give me a rematch since he's always complaining about the result of our first fight. If he beats O'Malley, I will be the next title challenger.

Right now I think Merab Dvalishvili deserves a title fight. But when I knock out Peter Yan, the right to challenge for the belt will come to me," Sherdog quoted Yadong as saying.
