Mokaev agreed that he shouldn't fight for the belt after his win over Perez

British UFC lightweight prospect Muhammad Mokaev admits his win over Alex Perez wasn't a high-profile enough bid for a title fight.

The 23-year-old fighter now plans to share the octagon with former belt challenger Brandon Royval.

"If I had beaten Perez early, I would have deserved a title fight. But it wasn't my best performance. Now I want a five-round fight with Royval. Sometimes I don't fight my best, but I always make weight. In 35 fights, I've never been taken down yet. Whatever I'm offered in the UFC, I'll be ready," - wrote Mokaev in social network X.

Recall, last weekend at UFC Fight Night 238 Mokaev defeated Perez by unanimous decision of the judges.
