The coach revealed when Makhachev will return to the Octagon

The head coach of the AKA gym, Javier Mendez, announced the tentative dates for the next fight of the UFC champion in the lightweight category Islam Makhacheva.

“Ramadan ends in April, so Makhachev will need two months to return. Yes, I think Islam will fight in June. Let’s see if the UFC can offer him something,” Mendes said in an interview with the Helen Yee Sports YouTube channel.

32-year-old Makhachev made his last appearance in October last year, knocking out Alexander Volkanovski in the first round.

It is worth adding that UFC CEO Dana White previously announced that the Dagestani’s next opponent will be the winner of the fight between former champion Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan, which will take place on April 13 at the UFC 300 tournament.
