Brother Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs), Shane, in an interview with Boxing King Media, categorically denied rumors that Jai Opetaya sent the “Gypsy King” to the floor during their recent sparring.
“I can assure you that neither Jai nor anyone else knocked down Tyson, nor did Tyson drop anyone,” said Shane Fury. — If Jai beat Tyson, I would tell you straight out that he is very good. If Tyson had beaten him, I would have remained silent because these are sparring stories.”
“This is all nonsense, nothing like this ever happened, but people believe in what they want to believe. This is a business that generates views based on bad emotions. Of the 100 videos, 85 are about Tyson and all of them are negative,” said the brother of the WBC heavyweight champion. — Tyson never, ever fell during sparring. He may look like he has a glass jaw in the ring, but no one has ever dropped him during sparring. He missed, of course, but I never saw him shocked or on the floor!”
Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) is due to return on May 18 in a fight for the absolute heavyweight title against Alexandra Usika (21-0, 14 KOs).
