In the contract for the fight between Devin Haney And Ryan Garcia, which is tentatively scheduled for April 20 in Las Vegas, will not have a weigh-in clause on the day of the fight. This was stated by Bill Haney, Devin's father and coach. The fight will also not take place at a catchweight, but will take place in the regular weight category up to 140 pounds (63.5 kg). At stake in the meeting will be the WBC world super lightweight title owned by Haney.

In the media, the potential meeting between Haney and Garcia is already called their “seventh”, meaning that both have already fought six times, but are still in Olympic boxing. In terms of victories, they are still tied - Haney won three fights, and Garcia also won three. At the same time, Garcia claims that in one of the meetings Haney was knocked down.

It was the clause about weighing in on the day of the fight that was cited by many as the main reason for Garcia’s loss in his fight with Gervonta Davis last April, when King Ray lost early in the seventh round.
