O'Malley: "Surprised that Vera got a title shot"

UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O'Malley not sure what his closest rival is Marlon Vera deserved his title shot.

The meeting of these fighters will headline UFC 299, which will take place on March 9 in Miami, USA.

“I have to admit, in some ways I’m surprised that this is happening. I didn’t think Marlon would get a title shot. Did he really deserve it after his performance in the fight with Pedro Munoz? I don’t know, but I want to remove him, so I’m looking forward to our meeting,” MMA Fighting quotes the American as saying.

Let us remember that O’Malley and Vera have already met in the Octagon. In August 2020, the Ecuadorian knocked out the American in the first round. This defeat is the only one in Sean's career.
