WBO world champion in junior welterweight Teofimo Lopez told why in June last year he unexpectedly announced his retirement from the sport.

“I needed to play a game. I didn’t intend to end my career, it was a marketing ploy. You need to be able to work with the media,” the American said in an interview with Boxing Social.

Let us remind you that on February 8 at the Top Rank evening in Las Vegas, Lopez will fight against Jamaine Ortiz.
