Jason Moloney (27-2, 19 KOs) defeated Saul Sanchez (20-3, 12 KOs) by a majority vote of the judges at a boxing evening in Quebec and defended his WBO world bantamweight title. After twelve rounds, two judges scored it 116-112 for the Australian, while the third saw it as a 114-114 draw. Thus, 33-year-old Moloughney defended the title he won last year for the first time.

On the same evening, Christian Mbili (26-0, 22 KOs), who occupies a high position in the super middleweight rankings, defeated Rohan Murdoch (27-3, 19 KOs) by technical knockout in the sixth round. At stake in the fight was the WBC continental American champion belt.
