British trainer and former world champion Barry McGuigan has spoken out about who the unified welterweight champion should cross gloves with in 2024 Terence Crawford.
“Crawford needs to move up to the first middle division in search of a real challenge. There is no point in a rematch with Errol Spence at welterweight. Terence is simply too strong for him.
A great opponent for Crawford would be Tim Tszyu or Jermell Charlo. He could even move up to middleweight and fight Jermall Charlo - that’s how good Terence is,” the Mirror quotes McGuigan.
Let us remind you that on July 29, Crawford defeated Spence Jr. by technical knockout in the ninth round. Errol later activated the mandatory rematch clause.
