At the boxing evening in Atlantic City, undefeated 26-year-old Ukrainian heavyweight Alexander Teslenko scored his 14th consecutive victory in the pros. Teslenko beat on points in 6 rounds the American veteran Avery Gibson by unanimous decision (58-55, 59-54, 60-53). In the first round Teslenko managed to send his opponent down.
