Australian cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia officially enters a new era of his career. The undefeated IBF titleholder will have his first fight under Dana White's Zuffa Boxing promotion on March 8 in Las Vegas.
This fight will be the main event of the evening and Opetaia's first appearance on American soil as a Zuffa fighter. The name of the opponent against whom the Australian will defend his belt will be announced by the promotion soon.
Opetaia himself speaks with great enthusiasm about this new stage:
“On March 8, I will debut at Zuffa in the Meta APEX arena. For me, this is truly a new chapter. Whether anyone likes it or not—they are here, and it's a fact. This opens up huge opportunities. Just look at the stats—it's something to be proud of. I am confident these guys will organize truly big fights for me. My goal is to become the first undisputed champion in Zuffa Boxing history.”
According to Jay, personally experiencing the project's atmosphere and meeting Dana White only strengthened his respect for the new promotion:
