On February 22, at a boxing event in Detroit, the undisputed world heavyweight champion Claressa Shields (17-0, 3 KOs) will have a rematch with Franchon Crews-Dezurn (10-2, 2 KOs). The two female boxers had the chance to meet in their professional debuts — that fight took place nearly ten years ago in 2017, and Shields won a convincing points victory.
Since then, Crews-Dezurn has gained the status of a two-time super middleweight world champion. The 30-year-old Shields recently signed a multimillion-dollar contract with Salita Promotions and last entered the ring in July, defeating Lani Daniels on points.
Crews-Dezurn won her last two fights against Shadasia Green and Sitalali Ortiz. The 38-year-old athlete from Baltimore holds the WBC super middleweight title.
