Josue David Hernandez, a promising young boxer from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, tragically lost his life during a family dispute. On December 2, the 20-year-old faced an unimaginably brutal turn of fate at his home in the Nuevo Progreso neighborhood.
During the altercation, a yet unnamed relative allegedly attacked Josue with a machete. He defended one of his sisters against her boyfriend's alleged aggression when the tragedy unfolded. The attacker, identified but still at large, fled the scene immediately after the incident.
The aftermath drew significant law enforcement attention. Members of the State Civil Guard and Investigative Police joined forces with expert services personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office. Despite comprehensive efforts, they have not yet located the suspect.
Josue had shown great promise in boxing circles, already clinching victories at events like FENAPO and Jhons Club. His bright future included plans to debut professionally by 2026.
The emotional impact on those close to Josue proved profound. His coach used social media to express his grief and pay tribute in heartfelt terms:
"I wake up today with the strong and sad news that you are no longer here. My friend, my brother, my running mate. So many dreams to fulfill... so many talks and all the confidence we had in each other to accomplish everything. A part of my heart goes with you. Only God knows why these things happen... I am very sorry for your departure and I am going to work so hard to fulfill all the goals we had together. I love you very much Josue David Hernandez and may God receive you in his holy kingdom."
As investigations continue into this senseless crime, Josue's legacy as a promising athlete inspires all who knew him to persevere through adversity in honor of their late friend’s memory.
