Former two-weight world champion David Haye has dropped a bombshell, revealing that Derek Chisora's next opponent is set to be longtime rival Dillian Whyte in a trilogy fight, dismissing rumors of a bout with Jarrell Miller.
In an exclusive interview with Boxing Social, Haye, who has a long and storied history with Chisora as both an opponent and a manager, provided inside details on what could be the final fight of Chisora's career.
Chisora vs. Whyte Trilogy Confirmed
When asked about Chisora's future, Haye was definitive. "I was with him last night... Derek's very excited, he's got the fight that he wanted... with Dillian Whyte. Their third fight," Haye announced.
Haye also shed light on the financial terms the two heavyweights have allegedly settled on. "They've agreed terms between each other. I think it's like 50/50, and the winner gets 60/40."
With Chisora approaching his 50th professional fight, Haye believes this is the perfect career finale for the veteran warrior. "What a great way to close the Derek Chisora chapter," he stated. "In his mind, going out there and getting that win, winning that trilogy fight."
Haye on Parker vs. Wardley
The former champion also offered his expert analysis on the upcoming heavyweight clash between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley. Haye gives a clear edge to the more experienced Parker.
"Skill for skill, Parker's been around too long, too experienced," Haye explained, referencing Parker's recent string of victories over top contenders. "He's fought very dangerous guys: Bakole in his last fight, Zhang, Deontay Wilder... I think it will be too much for him [Wardley]."
Haye added that the winner of the bout is the most logical next challenger for unified champion Oleksandr Usyk. "I genuinely think Parker is, and should be, next in line if Usyk is going to continue boxing. There's no one else who deserves a shot more than Parker."
Chisora's Renewed Discipline
Haye also praised Chisora's current professionalism, noting a significant change in his preparation. He credits Chisora's team for ensuring he stays in shape year-round. "He's living the life between fights... his great team at London Shootfighters, they make sure when there's no fight scheduled, he's in, he's training... so when he does get that call-up, he's ready to go."
